NewsGator's Widget Frame work is a dynamic platform for creating, managing and reporting on widgets - and a great way to generate incremental traffic for your site.
- Editorial Control - You control sources and uses
You not only have control over the feeds that you put into your widgets, but you also get article level control over how the content is displayed within. For example, breaking stories can be placed at the top of the widget and ordered if there are multiples - and if per chance something comes across the wire that isn't appropriate for your audience, you can remove it. All from a centralized administration website (the "Editor's Desk") - and changes are immediate.
- Integrates with your existing ad and analytics servers
Widgets are a small representation of your website, and should be reported and monetized in the same ways. We've gone to great lengths to integrate with ad servers like OAS and Doubleclick, as well as with analytics providers Omniture and Google Analytics.
- Viral sharing - put widgets anywhere!
While its important to have the right content to attract your audience, its also important to make it as easy as possible for them to share, take, distribute and otherwise propagate your widgets to whatever social network, personal homepage or blog they call "home". Pay no mind about the ever changing APIs, or the different requirements between the different systems. We'll keep you up to date and make sure your widgets show up in the best possible light on all the different platforms (and as seamlessly as possible).
- Inheritance reporting - Know how your network grows
In the spirit of David Byrne's classic lyric, "How did I get here?", we introduce Inheritance Reporting. Like a family tree, everything starts from something, and widgets are no exception. With Inheritance Reports, you will be able to pinpoint exactly how your widget is distributed through the internet, who got it from where, and how many impressions, clicks and interactions it has generated.
- Depend on NewsGator's scaled backend platform
All of this wouldn't be possible without a system that is reliable, scalable and backed by an SLA.
